Tips For Moving When Pregnant
If you’ve happened to be planning to move while you’re pregnant, then you know it’s not going to be easy. Moving is hard enough when you’re not pregnant, so being pregnant is definitely going to add to that stress. Fortunately, there are a few ways you can avoid that stress and be ready for all kinds of situations.
So here are a few moving tips just for all you expecting mothers:
- Be prepared and make a plan:
Make a list of things you need to have done so that the whole moving operation goes smoothly. All you need is an A4 size paper and a pen to write down all the moving tasks you need to complete. An example of what your moving list should like is:
- Make an inventory of all things that need to be moved
- Hire a professional moving company
- Sign the needed documents
- Look for schools in the area I’m relocating to
And so on. Having a plan makes things easier so that you don’t do things at random and you’re well prepared for any sudden problems.
- New Doctor:
First, I would suggest you consult your doctor on what you can and cannot do while you’re moving when pregnant. Second, you should start looking for a suitable Doctor in the area you’re planning to move to prior to the moving day. Ask for recommendations from friends and family for good doctors.
- Pack a special mommy back pack:
It’s a good idea to pack a special bag with all the important you’re going to need as a moving pregnant mom. For example, your pregnancy medicines and supplements, a few sets of clothes, a few small treats that you know you’d get the urge for later (we know you love your chocolates).
- Don’t be shy to ask for help:
Everyone around you going to understand the situation you’re in. They all know being pregnant can be hard. So if you ever need a hand with planning, packing, moral support and generally the whole moving process, then just get help from family or a friend.
- Pick the right moving services for you:
I put this on the list of tips because you can take advantage of the services moving companies can do for you. If you feel you can’t do the packing yourself then for a higher price, the company you hire can get it all done for you. Some of the additional services moving companies offer are packing, unpacking, assembly/reassembly of furniture, storage and the set-up of your new location.
