-Ways to Decrease Your Stress While Moving-
Able Moving & Storage knows moving can be a very stressful experience for some. In this article, we have provided several tips to help decrease your stress while moving.
- Hire A Moving Company – First and foremost, taking this step will alleviate much of the stresses associated with relocating. Just think about it; you won’t need to lift anything heavy and strain yourself, so you don’t have to worry about injury or feeling exhausted. This means you will have more energy to focus on the more important details of your move, such as coordinating a family schedule, and planning out where items will go in your new home or apartment.
- Rest Up – Just before the day of the move, be sure to get a good night’s sleep so you will wake up feeling refreshed and ready to face the activities of the moving process! You will need to be functioning at your peak, especially in order to manage stress and anxiety levels. If you are tired, it will only make your day more difficult.
- Have a Game Plan – It can be tough enough as it is to plan where you will move to in general, as you may have to jump through all kinds of hoops to buy and/or sell your home. So, when it comes down to the day of the move, keep in mind that there will be several additional things that will need to be taken care of, and be prepared! Have a plan to keep your children occupied while their items are being packed up, and if you have pets, be sure to stick to their feeding and exercise schedule as closely as possible. It may help to write out a loose schedule for what everyone’s responsibilities will be on the day of the move so that everyone can contribute, and make the transition go as smoothly as possible.
- Breathe – Don’t forget to breathe and take a moment for yourself to rest and refuel. Take the time to stay hydrated and well fed so that you can maintain your momentum throughout the day.
